Our Learning Approach

At Dandelion Fields Childcare, children of different ages learn and grow together in a warm, family-like, multi-age setting. From our youngest infants to older toddlers, this approach builds relationships, encourages social-emotional growth, and allows children to learn from one another.
As a Family Child Care Home (FCCH), children also benefit from continuity of care through a primary caregiver approach. Children build secure, trusting relationships with the same consistent provider each day, helping them feel safe, supported, and emotionally connected in a nurturing home environment. This consistency supports healthy attachment, emotional regulation, and individualized care throughout early childhood.
We follow the Colorado Early Learning and Development Guidelines (CELDG) and use play-based, thematic lesson plans to guide daily learning. Each two-week unit includes hands-on activities, songs, movement, early literacy and math, fine motor practice, and adaptations for different learning styles. Infants join in through tummy time, sensory play, and other age-appropriate activities.
Spiritual growth is also part of the daily routine, with simple prayers, Christ-centered values, daily affirmations, and faith-based art or coloring activities - helping children learn to love God, love others, and grow in confidence and kindness.

Infants
We provide a nurturing, safe environment where babies can explore, learn, and grow during these critical early years. Our approach focuses on responsive care and individualized attention to support each child’s development. We follow your baby’s lead and social cues, doing our best to mirror your home routines to create a familiar, comfortable transition between home and care.
Toddlers
With toddlers we focus on fostering curiosity and independence while providing a structured yet playful environment. We encourage social interaction and introduce age-appropriate activities to promote early learning. Each day, we connect, sing, dance, laugh, and get a little silly - because they’re only little once, and learning should always be fun!

Preschool
At Dandelion Fields Childcare, we prepare children for kindergarten through a play-based, thematic curriculum that nurtures creativity, cognitive skills, and social development.
Every child has a unique learning style - just like my own three children. I’m a visual and read/write learner; my older kids are musical, auditory, and mathematical learners; and my youngest, who is on the spectrum, is a kinesthetic learner with a touch of musicality. God has wonderfully designed each brain to learn in different ways, and here we celebrate those differences.
Through individualized care, hands-on play, and exploration, each child grows into a confident, capable learner while developing social-emotional skills and a love of learning in a safe, nurturing environment.
